So use these 12 tips for earning some extra money at homestay during COVID-19.

1. Make paper money from old paper

Interestingly, first, check all your cabinets and racks, withdraw old newspapers and magazines then make a bunch of it. Convert newspapers into paper money once market reopens.

2. Withdraw stuff you didn't use in last year

Yes, we are shopping for lovers and we collect lots of useless
stuff like carrying bags, plastic items, showpieces, key-chains, electric gadgets, games, etc. which we use for a few days even a few minutes then stores it for years. Withdraw this stuff and sell it to the garbage center, or on OLX.

Future tips-If you want to decorate your home always try to purchase metal showpieces instead of ceramics or plastic as metals don’t fade up or break easily. One more point is, it will give you more rewards at the time of resale and if that item is unique it could be turned into antique after some decades which will turn into a treasure for the next generation.

3. Check energy-consuming points

I mean check which of electricity points are consuming more
energy, make a list of it and change these points into the more energy-efficient product, for example, change CFL bulb into the LED bulb, regular ceiling fan into the LED fan, replace one or two-star energy-efficient products with four to five-star products. This will save considerable electricity forever. After all one rupee saved is equal to a rupee earned.

4. Check all subscriptions

As we always are busy. But this lockdown has provided us
enough time to think for all are subscriptions for the magazine, different TV channels, various mobile operators internet plans, Wi-Fi router plan. Think twice if these are not useful to you then cut it immediately. This affects your bank account on monthly basis.

If you are using DTH cable service then recharge for 11
months and get 12th months subscription free which accounts for an 8% discount. Don't love your old landline and radio connection as well. In this century everyone has mobile in his pocket then why to waste money on your landline and radio bills if you are getting 20 to 30 calls per month then cut the connection immediately as this will save almost Rupees 250 monthly, i.e.3000 Rupees annually if you are in India.

5. Track your family’s total mobile connections

This is a big fat cat. Track and note down all mobile operators' plan your family is using. Search for a better cost-saving family telecom plans as many operators like Jio and Airtel offers. It will save approx. 20 to 30 percent of total telecom bills, Bingo!

6. Staycation

This is trending in the market but seriously one needs to make fun by arranging vacations at home lawns, backyards, or at their home town/ country to increase savings.  We know some vacations outside our country are tempting but it's better to stay away for a few years.

7. Use Petro card

If you have bikes and cars in your parking then it's time to reduce the automobile food bill. Petrol and diesel are one of the most consumed things in India. Try to be a member of your nearest fuel pump with a membership card. Then use it to fuel up all your automobiles. It will save up to a few bucks. The first step is to go and get the membership form whenever the lockdown opens.

8. Think about membership of the online market

If you are using an online portal and accepted their prime membership then you are wrong. As you can purchase lots of stuff cheaper than this, from time to time from the local market or any other website then why are you bounding yourself with these cards? If these websites do not charge any amount against membership, you can think of them.

9. Rent your home or plot

Yes, you are correct. If you have a big home, make some part of it available for rent. Lots of people forget that they don't need this much big house or plot. So provide some space to anyone needy and earn a huge amount. Think about it, plan it, do it. Especially in India lots of people reside in big bungalows with small families and keep crying that they don't have any fixed income. Even plots also remain vacant for years. This will prove the best option to earn income. So, check it now that do you have this option to earn passive income.

10. Think for family insurance plan

If your family members are getting insurance cover under different plans from different companies then think twice. It's time to switch on one single-family insurance plan. Certainly, it will reduce the total expenditure you make on health.

11. Use, unused cosmetics in a different way

Interestingly, we use very few cosmetics on regular basis. But because of shopping habits and advertisement penetration, we purchase hair oil, shampoo, scrubs, soaps, nail paints, perfume, etc. which we use for a few days only. As per research average monthly spending on cosmetics by an individual in India is RS. 1446 in 17-18. So why are you waiting for? Open your dressing table drawer and shelves, take those unused cosmetics. Use shampoo as the car wash, scrub as door handle cleaner, perfume as a room freshener and the list go on. This will save some space and money also. Don’t feel shy to use it in Indian ways as the world now appreciating Indian Jugaads.

12. Exchange your medicines

If your medicine box contains unused medicines then go to
medicine shop and if possible, exchange it with other useful products.
